What Does It Mean to Be Pregnant with ADHD? Can I Take My Medication?

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can influence daily functioning, organization, mental load, and emotional well-being during pregnancy. Yet ADHD in pregnancy is still rarely discussed in the perinatal context.

If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy and living with ADHD, this video testimony may help you feel less alone. Pregnancy is a period that involves many changes. Being able to have the support you need can make a big difference.

Here, a mother shares her experience of a first pregnancy without knowing she had ADHD, followed by subsequent pregnancies after receiving her diagnosis. She speaks openly about the challenges, the adjustments she made, and the question many parents ask: Can I continue taking ADHD medication during pregnancy?

Watch the video to better understand the possible options when navigating pregnancy with an ADHD diagnosis.

A heartfelt thank you to Lara Eid for sharing her story.
